1. What skills have you developed through this
module and how effectively do you think you have applied them?
|
I learnt about lots of
different places to find information and articles online. I also developed
the skill of making imagery based on political issues but I am aware how poor
my work is in comparison to the artists I have investigated. Before COP I didn’t really think about
politics much and I was blissfully unaware of a lot of global news, I now
feel more clued up and interested. I wish I was more politically engaged when
I was younger.
|
2. What approaches
to/methods of research have you developed and how have they informed your practical
outcomes?
I did not know about
google books or jstor or google scholar. I now feel confident finding and
locating books in the library. I now understand how difficult it is to go
from reading a book/ information then finding some way to utilise it in an
essay. i find it a lot easier to take in information when I read aloud,
however this isn’t always acceptable when in public.

3. What strengths can
you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these?
|
I think my journal was
my biggest strength throughout my this COP project. I will continue to create
topic/political imagery; I want to make an illustrated news zine that creates
an insight into my take on current global events. I also had a lot of
conversations with people about glabal politics and social debates when I was
trying to think of more things to draw; this lead to some very interesting
conversations and I would like to further this in the future by maybe interviewing
members of the public to see what kind of issues people are really passionate
about.
|
4. What weaknesses can
you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future?
|
Organisation Time management;
I will work solidly throughout COP next year rather than relaxing and
panicking at the end. Also I will choose a topic that I am truly interesting
in which would mean I will be more enthusiastic about research and investigating
the subject. I am not confident with my reading speed and get very easily
frustrated plus I feel like my writing skills, sentence structure and order
is affected by my lack of books read throughout life so far and could be much
improved.
|
5. Identify five
things that you feel will benefit you during next years Context of Practice
module?
|
Working solidly throughout
not letting the tasks build up and having to retrospectively blog.
Reading books by
allowing myself time, read in manageable chunks.
Work with DSA- study
support sessions to help with organization and writing. Maybe get coloured
overlays to help with reading
Investigate a topic I am
truly interested in rather than trying to become interested through
investigation.
Attending EVERY planned
session without fail.
Ask for guidance
rather than trying to figure it out myself.
Create a plan of
action/ use a calendar to figure out my time and organize myself more
effectively.

The evaluation of your
work is an important part of the assessment criteria and represents a
percentage of the overall grade. It is essential that you give yourself
enough time to complete your written evaluation fully and with appropriate
depth and level of self-reflection. If you have any questions relating to the
self-evaluation process speak to a member of staff as soon as possible.
